Beekeeping for Beginners

Are you keen to start your beekeeping journey? Want to improve your gardens or harvest your own honey? If so, this is the course for you. You will learn everything you need to know to keep bees safely and successfully in the Top End.

The course content is based at a beginner or novice level beekeeper. This course doesn’t cover advanced bee keeping, it is focused only on the information and hands on training that is required to look after bees at a hobbyist level in the Top End.

All safety gear will be provided, we just ask you bring covered shoes, socks and a drink bottle. For bio security reasons, no beekeeping equipment should be brought to the course. The course will run for approximately 4 hours, but we ask that you allow 6 hours in case we are having too much fun to stop on time. A light meal will be provided on the day so please let us know in advance if you have any food allergies.
